The course starts in the Sai Kung Peninsula which is on the north eastern part of Hong Kong (and to be more precise, north eastern part of the New Territories). This part of Hong Kong is the “countryside” and doesn’t really have hotels close by. However, the Pak Tam Chung Holiday Villag,e which is pretty basic, very cheap and a bit like a scout camp, is a 5 minute walk from the start line. Further information can be found through the link:

The finish point of the event is close to a town called Tsuen Wan in Kowloon (which is a 5 minute taxi ride from the finish). There are some hotels there, including the following 3 here:

However, Tsuen Wan is not a place that a tourist would generally visit so perhaps a better call may be to stay on Hong Kong Island . Hong Kong Island is where many of the tourist sites are and it will take about 1 hour in a taxi (and cost about HKD240, which is USD30) to get from Hong Kong to the startline. It will take about 40 minutes to get from the finish back to Hong Kong (and cost about HKD200, which is USD25).
There are many hotels on Hong Kong Island. If Causeway Bay is preferred (to be closer to the HK shopping, eating and bustling action - it can be very crowded! ) then:
